Welcome to the World Party

I can't believe its been a whole 6 months since Delilah was born, what I did with my time before having her I don't know! Anyway we wanted to have a little celebration for for her arrival, we would have liked to have done it when she was younger but to be quite honest life was far too hectic - (it still is!) We decided to have a 'Welcome to the World Party' as although me and Ian are both christened, we felt that we wanted Delilah to make the choice when she was older. We had such a lovely time, was the perfect way to celebrate our little bundle of joy with  music, food and all the people who love her.
Here's the invite Ian and I designed, the party was held at Make Do & Mend (our favourite family hangout!)

Obviously Delilah had to have a special dress (!) and a little floral display from her aunt (Alie Blackman - check out her blog here)

Ian made some sugar mice.........

My mum, me and Alie made lots of cakes..........

My mum's drawing of little D on her card....

We gave people little scrolls of paper tied with ribbon which had Delilah's footprint on as a thank you for coming.

As a thank you for presents we made mix tapes! (or erm CD's) with Delilah-esque songs, like Hey There Delilah, a few Disney songs and of course Tom Jones!

Charlotte Cook Illustration

Look at the loveliness I have just won! I was so excited when I came home to this parcel the other day from wonderful illustrator Charlotte Cook. Excitingly without even knowing it I was her 500th follower and so she sent me this gorgeous looking parcel :)

I just LOVE her illustrations, they're so fun and affectionate and just scrumptious! I can't wait to get my hands on some more books she's illustrated to read with Delilah, I know she's going to love them.

Love this autumn postcard and the textured trees here.

Lucky me to win this card selection!

And this gorgeous book 'The Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat' it's already a firm favourite. Love the children dressed as the Owl and the Pussycat and the patterns are so lovely on their clothes, aswell as all the rich texture and pattern in the background of all the pages. Thanks so much Charlotte I feel very lucky!xx

Daddy & Delilah

I just wanted to share with you this beautiful illustration I commissioned Abby Wright to do for Ian's birthday last weekend. I'm sure you'll all agree, it's amazing! I love the detail from Ian's beard to Delilah's floral babygrow, it's just wonderful. I think Abby's really captured the moment, and the feel of Ian and Delilah.

I've loved Abby's illustrations for a while now and feel thrilled to own my very own piece of her work! Her style is really elegant and graceful and slightly graphic too, which is why I knew it would be the perfect present for Ian - he loves it too! I would definitely recommend taking a look at Abby's work and considering her for portraits, they're the most wonderful personal gift - I can't wait to get this framed and on the wall. Thanks Abby!

I won!

Last week I won a wonderful blog giveaway on Nikki McWilliams blog. I love Nikki's work - I mean what's not to like - tea, biscuits, textiles!! I would encourage everyone to have a look on her site, I have my eye on lots of her biscuity goodies! I won a hamper full of Cafe Direct tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a mug, a teatowel and most importantly a gorgeous print by Nikki, bourbon keyring and jammy heart cushion. I have to say I dived straight into the hamper and love all the products, (I am currently very much in need of lots of caffeine!) the luxury hot chocolate is really yummy, and perfect topped with cream.

Delilah loved the cushion, and it has already been put pride of place in her bedroom!

Thanks so much!x

I love to laugh :)

A new development........
