Week 36 Floral

Some quick practice florals for my sisters new blog background which will be all to do with floristry, will start making more tweaks and colour changes tomorrow.

Me at 36 weeks and getting larger by the day! Can't wait to actually have this baby now, feel like I've been pregnant forever - and my little cootling is definitely a bit of a wriggler so am getting quite tired. Ah well, 4 weeks to go!

Painting the Roses Red...

My mum and I are working on a project together at the moment and she had to draw a rose bush, well I love this little rose bush and I couldn't help but think it would make a nice tiny print pattern.....

Look what I got!

Excited! Will report back next week :-)

Paper Patchwork Workshop

Some pictures of the work created at yesterday's workshop for the Chelmsford Arts Trail at Make Do & Mend. I printed out lots of my pattern designs onto paper and people collaged pictures using them, as well as being inspired by the ethos at the shop and the lovely surroundings. All the ladies who came created some beautiful pictures - thanks so much for coming!

Workshops!

A few photos from yesterday's workshops for the Chelmsford Arts Trail at Make Do & Mend. I had a lovely day, first tile decorating and then making vintage paper dress up dolls in the evening - was lovely to meet some the ladies who came and meet again fellow arts trail artist Andrea Farmer. Looking forward to tomorrow's paper patchwork :-)

The Chelmsford Arts Trail: Make Do & Mend

My display for the Chelmsford Arts Trail is now up! Am very excited to be in Make Do & Mend on Byron Road (just off Navigation Road in Chelmsford) - and can you believe they've actually allowed me to tile a whole wall in my designs!! Have absolutely loved collaborating with the Hannah the owner, and there's so much more to come - will keep you updated with regular blogposts through the week of the trail. Here's Ian and I sticking the vinyl stickers up today:

Me (looking extremely whale like!) and the lovely Hannah the company owner.

Big thank you to Hannah for having me in her beautiful shop - and her husband Joe for expert tiling :-)

Oh and this is an image of my piece in the group show (it's all framed and mounted now but forgot to take a picture). The group show will be open from saturday in the old Barclays building in Chelmsford Highstreet.

I will be in the shop on Saturday so please come and say hello! For details on the workshops I will be doing please visit: http://makedomend.com/workshopsnew.html

Look What I found!

This beautiful old Ercol chair from my local charity furniture shop for £10! Bargain! And it's really so comfy, and just the right size for our little lounge.

And here's a little sneak peek of my cuttings which I'm using for my arts trail piece in the groups show.

Arts Trail Workshops At Make Do And Mend

Morning! Happy 1st September, I think I may be in the minority, but I for one am thrilled that we are now coming into the Autumn months! Just think of all the lovely cosy evenings in and crunchy walks.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know about some workshops I will be doing at Make Do & Mend as part of the Chelmsford Arts Trail. The workshops are all free and in the case of the tile decorating workshop you can drop in at any time during the day to do them - really looking forward to them! Here's all the info on the website:

Tile Decorating - Tuesday 13th September 11 - 5pm
To celebrate Georgia's tile designs as part of the Chelmsford Arts Trail come and decorate your very own tile to adorn your home! Be inspired by the fabric, papers and textures all on display in the shop and get making! We will use permanent pens, ceramic paints and stencils to adorn and embellish your unique tile - all tiles will be photographed and digitally made into a large pattern exhibition on the Arts Trail website.

Vintage Paper Dolls - Tuesday 13th September 6 - 8pm
Ever spend a few hours dressing paper dolls with little paper dresses and accessories as a child?(remember the little tabs you had to cut out and bend round?) Well come and do some more! Using Georgia Coote's designs patterned papers will be used to dress and design little clothes to go onto vintage ladies to be exhibited as part of the Chelmsford Arts Trail.

Paper Patchwork - Thursday 15th September 11 - 5pm
Come and create some simple pattern and print making with paper to make a paper patchwork. Be inspired by actual patchwork and surface pattern designs to create your very own piece of art!

To book please visit: http://makedomend.com/workshopsnew.html or go into the shop!
